About Me

Professional Background

Dr. Hu offers expert medical and surgical care to patients suffering from inflammatory and
infectious eye diseases, including complications of autoimmune and immunosuppressive

Dr. Hu offers expert medical and surgical care to patients suffering from inflammatory and
infectious eye diseases, including complications of autoimmune and immunosuppressive
disorders. In addition, she performs routine and complex cataract surgery.

Dr. Hu received her undergraduate training in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University. She completed her medical training at Harvard University, where she also completed a Doctorate in Neuroscience. She remained at Harvard to complete her residency in ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and went on to complete a fellowship in uveitis at the Moran Eye Center through a prestigious Heed Ophthalmic Foundation fellowship.

Dr. Hu’s research Interests include improving the diagnosis of infectious and malignant uveitis, and improving outcomes in patients with uveitis undergoing cataract surgery. She has received career development funding from the National Institutes for Health for her research.

Dr. Hu believes in a collaborative approach, working with rheumatologists, infectious disease specialists, pediatricians and internists to ensure uveitis patients receive the best possible care. She is board certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and American Uveitis Society.

Dr. Hu is fluent in Mandarin. She sees patients of all ages and treats the following Conditions:
