As a pediatric hospitalist, Dr. Present works to partner with families to understand their thought processes and preferences, equipping them with the information to make the evidence-based choices that suit their care goals. He loves working in the hospital, where opportunities for multidisciplinary...
As a pediatric hospitalist, Dr. Present works to partner with families to understand their thought processes and preferences, equipping them with the information to make the evidence-based choices that suit their care goals. He loves working in the hospital, where opportunities for multidisciplinary approaches and medical education abound. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Present is passionate about applying proven interventions to address the social determinants of health and promote equitable outcomes. In this vein, he started the Rochester chapter of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library during residency. Since 2022, the Rochester Imagination Library has mailed more than 100,000 books to thousands of young children across the City of Rochester.

Dr. Present is a fellowship-trained pediatric hospitalist interested in exploring the intersections of systemic inequities and pediatric caregiver decision-making and care-seeking, particularly as they relate to historically marginalized communities. He is also dedicated to rallying support for and applying evidence-based interventions to improve social determinants of health; with this in mind, he founded and continues to operate the Rochester chapter of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, partnering with state officials to increase funding for early literacy programs.
