Dr. Moore received her undergraduate degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, earning a Bachelors in Science (B.S.) and graduating with academic honors. After college, she trained for two years at the Massachusetts General Hospital BioMEMS Resource Center under Mehmet Toner, PhD and Sunitha Nagrath, PhD. There, she studied circulating tumor cells in whole blood and developed microfluidic devices. She next attended the University of Massachusetts Medical School where she was selected for the Clinical and Translational Research Pathway. After medical school, she completed internship and residency in General Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a Harvard teaching hospital. During her residency training, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University under Dr. Michael T. Longaker where she studied scarless wound healing. She also attended the Stanford Graduate School of Business "Ignite" Program, an executive education series focused on the translation of discoveries to business entities. After residency, she completed fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery at the Harvard Combined Endocrine Surgery Fellowship, where she trained with faculty from both Brigham and Women's Hospital as well as Massachusetts General Hospital.

Now recruited as faculty to the University of Rochester, Dr. Moore will provide cutting edge surgical care while also researching endocrine organ disease and regeneration. She offers surgery to both adults and children.

"Endocrine Surgery was an easy choice for me. I value being a highly technical surgeon, an astute clinician, and investigating the cutting edge of surgical technology. Endocrine surgery is a unique field that combines fine technical skill in the operating room with sound clinical judgement. It’s also a field where technology advances can readily improve patient care and outcomes. With my background as a surgeon- scientist, I was drawn to the complex clinical and surgical dilemmas that occur in endocrine surgery patients every day. With my research, I aspire to make discoveries that will improve care for tomorrow’s patients.

I believe that patient care should be both evidence-based and individualized. It is important to understand the science behind each disease, behind each person’s biology, and then apply the two to arrive at the best treatment recommendations. Together with my patients, we will choose the best treatment options based on the current evidence, their biology, as well as their personal preference."

At URMC, we believe that patients should be empowered to make the right decisions regarding their personal healthcare. To do so, transparency is critical. URMC partners with Press Ganey, to survey our patients about all aspects of their care experience. We are now putting this pertinent information at your fingertips by displaying star ratings for our providers along with anonymous patient comments on our website. This will help you make better-informed choices about how and with whom you seek care. Click here to learn more about the surveys used to generate this vital information.
