I specialize in pediatric orthopaedics and the treatment of pediatric spinal deformity, developmental dysplasia of the hip, pediatric orthopaedic trauma, and general musculoskeletal pathology in children. My interest in medicine started while studying engineering in college and continued while volunteering with local Fire and EMS organizations for almost 10 years.

I ultimately pursued a career in pediatric orthopaedics because I enjoy the complexity and care coordination that comes with pediatric orthopedic conditions, as well as the opportunity for long lasting relationships. I find it rewarding to see how resilient children can be after injuries or surgery. Kids are also just fun to be around, which keeps the day-to-day life in medicine interesting!

My family and I enjoy the outdoors and various other activities that the Rochester area has to offer.

Research

My research has focused on orthopedic trauma, slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), and developmental dysplasia of the hip. I have authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on various orthopaedic conditions and presented at many national and international conferences.

This was our first time meeting Dr. Dubina, and he was wonderful. My son really liked that he was included in the treatment plan (recommended physical therapy), rather than dictated to. Dr. Dubina told him his recommendations and the reasons and told my son it was up to him whether or not he chose to do it. My son felt valued, heard, and cared about. The resident we saw was great as well, connecting with my son over the shoes he had on. Overall, an excellent appointment.

We love Dr. Dubina. We always have a good experience with him. We wish all of our doctors were as wonderful to deal with. His calm manner and his thoroughness in answering questions made this whole experience much easier. I prayed before we were appointed a surgeon and he was the answer to that prayer. I can't imagine having to go through this experience with any other doctor. I would highly recommend him to any family that had to go through this. I felt so blessed and relieved to have him. I was really nervous about this procedure and having a negative experience would made it so much more difficult. Dr. Dubina was truly a blessing to us through this.
