Dr. Monica Vielkind is a pediatric pulmonologist at the University of Rochester’s Golisano Children’s Hospital, where she serves as Clinical Director of Pediatric Pulmonology, Associate Medical Director for the Aerodigestive Center, and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship.

Dr. Monica Vielkind is a pediatric pulmonologist at the University of Rochester’s Golisano Children’s Hospital, where she serves as Clinical Director of Pediatric Pulmonology, Associate Medical Director for the Aerodigestive Center, and Director of the Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship.

Dr. Vielkind’s clinical expertise centers on the care of children with complex airway and respiratory conditions, including those with aerodigestive disorders, tracheostomies and ventilator dependence. She is passionate about providing multidisciplinary, family-centered care to improve the quality of life and long-term outcomes for medically fragile children.

Dr. Vielkind earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Emory University, followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of Colorado. She also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Science from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

At the University of Rochester, Dr. Vielkind is deeply committed to medical education, mentoring trainees, and advancing collaborative care models for children with complex respiratory and aerodigestive needs.
