About Me

Karina attended the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution, for her undergraduate studies. There she obtained a dual degree in Nursing and in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies. She then returned to Penn to pursue a master's degree and become a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. ...
Karina attended the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution, for her undergraduate studies. There she obtained a dual degree in Nursing and in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies. She then returned to Penn to pursue a master's degree and become a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.

Karina worked in reproductive and sexual health prior to subspecializing in breast care. She worked in the Breast Care Center and Hispanic Breast Cancer Clinic at Harvard's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA and later relocated to Rochester where she holds her current position at the Pluta Cancer Center in Breast Surgery.

She is a Certified Breast Care Nurse through ONCC and is a member of American Society of Breast Surgeons and Oncology Nursing Society. Karina is also fluent in Spanish.
