Karina earned dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and returned to complete her master’s degree, becoming a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

Her clinical background spans reproductive and sexual health, with a focused transition into breast care. She trained at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center— a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital—where she worked in both the Breast Care Center and the Hispanic Breast Cancer Clinic.

Karina currently practices as a surgical oncology nurse practitioner at Wilmot Cancer Institute’s Pluta Cancer Center.

She is a Certified Breast Care Nurse (CBCN) and a Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA), and is an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the Oncology Nursing Society.
