Amy Bernardoni, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Her research focuses on the intersection of early childhood trauma and developmental disabilities. Specific research endeavors include investigating symptom presentation of posttraumatic stress in children with autism and developmental disabilities, the diagnostic differential of autism spectrum disorder vs. early childhood trauma, and improved diagnostic screeners for early childhood adverse experiences in clinical settings that serve developmental disability populations. This has resulted in two oral presentations at international research conferences (INSAR) and the preparation of several manuscripts for publication at leading peer-reviewed journals.
