Dr. Kingshuk (King) Mazumdar is a Hospitalist & Assistant Professor in the Division of Internal Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital with longstanding interest and involvement in patient safety. He completed an MBA in health care management from Union Graduate College in 2017, prior to graduating from Albany Medical College in 2021. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2024 and subsequently served as an Internal Medicine Chief Residents during the 2024-2025 academic year. During this time, he completed formal certification in patient safety, achieving his CPPS, and additionally served as the Resident Scholar of the University of Rochester Medical Center's Quality Institute. He now serves as the Medical Director for Healthcare Safety in the Quality Institute, where he plays an important role in institutional and system-wide patient safety and quality improvement initiatives. He has additional interest in the intersection of artificial intelligence and patient safety, and recently completed a certificate of specialization in Business Applications for Artificial Intelligence in Health Care through the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He is currently completing additional certification through the University of Chicago Booth's Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer Executive Education Program.
