About Me

Dr. Prishanya Pillai grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and minor in Spanish from the University of Rochester. She received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, where she co-founded the Alaska WWAMI Program’s firs...
Dr. Prishanya Pillai grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and minor in Spanish from the University of Rochester. She received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, where she co-founded the Alaska WWAMI Program’s first service-learning organization. She returned to Rochester, NY for internal medicine residency training at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, where she served as a chief fellow and graduated from the Global Health Equity Track. Dr. Pillai is passionate about the intersection of infectious diseases, global health, and human rights and has completed public health projects and clinical rotations in Kenya, South Africa, and India. She is currently working as an infectious disease physician at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
