About Me

Dr. Sood has been practicing in New York State since 2011. He is a graduate of New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA. Dr. Sood has been practicing in New York State since 2011. He is a graduate of New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA. As part of his training, he completed a 6-month ocular disease internship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL. He has also completed the Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), where he now serves as a member of the Admittance Committee. In this role, he examines and evaluates the case reports, posters, and presentations of other optometrists applying for Fellowship to AAO and conducts their oral exams. Dr. Sood is also pursuing a leadership program conducted by the Merton C. Flom Leadership Academy of the AAO. Prior to his OD Degree, Dr. Sood did his B.S. in Optometry from L. V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India, in Collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.



Dr. Sood primarily sees adult patients and children over the age of ten who have a variety of vision issues and co-manages complex and surgical patients with the Eye Institute’s subspecialty clinicians. Some of the conditions he manages and services he performs include



• Dry eye

• Diabetic eye disease screenings

• Cataract co-management

• Contact lens fittings

• Medical management of glaucoma

• Ocular disease screening

• Routine vision exams

• Spectacle prescriptions



He enjoys living in the Finger Lakes Region with his wife and 2 kids.
