Dr. Barnett was born and raised in Rochester, New York, surrounded by a wonderful and supportive family. She completed both her BS in Biology and MBA with a concentration in healthcare administration at Niagara University, where Korinne also played collegiate soccer and worked as an adjunct professor. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University at Buffalo and stayed to complete residency training in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics. During residency, Dr. Barnett had the privilege of serving as a Chief Resident, with a focus on curriculum development, wellness and mentorship.

While her clinical interests are broad, Korinne is especially passionate about hospital medicine and global health. She is drawn to caring for diverse patient populations, particularly those impacted by complex social and systemic barriers, both locally and globally. Her husband and she share a calling to serve through short- and long-term global missions. With a background in business and healthcare administration, she is committed to fostering strong teams and meaningful relationships—developing, leading, and mentoring others to create lasting impact and build innovative solutions in new spaces. Dr. Barnett values practice efficiency while remaining committed to holistic, relationship-centered care that enhances both patient experience and outcomes.

Outside of medicine, she still loves a good pick-up soccer game, but these days, Korinne is more often running, lifting, hiking, skiing, or curled up with a good book. She also enjoys discovering new coffee shops, learning to surf, and traveling with her family. At home, you’ll often find Korinne watering her plants or tending to their vegetable garden. Above all, people are at the heart of what she does—whether it’s investing in her church community, mentoring young women, or spending time with loved ones. She strives to do for one what she wishes she could do for all, live intentionally, and create what she wishes she had.

Dr. Barnett is thrilled to join the University of Rochester’s Hospital Medicine Division and looks forward to growing alongside such an incredible team while contributing meaningfully to the program and the patients we serve.
