About Me
Her research focuses on psoriasis as a systemic inflammatory disease, with three main areas of emphasis: the influence of the gut microbiome on psoriasis outcomes, the identification of metabolomic and microbiome biomarkers of cardiovascular disease and treatment resistance, and the impact of psoriasis on ocular health. In 2024, Dr. Treichel completed the International Psoriasis Council’s (IPC) International Fellowship Program and now serves as a Junior Councilor of the IPC. Through this work, her overarching goal is to translate clinical challenges into research questions and develop innovative strategies that advance understanding of psoriasis and improve both skin and systemic health for patients.
At URMC, Dr. Treichel is involved in the psoriasis subspecialty clinic while also caring for patients with general dermatologic conditions.
