Julie Al-Bahou, PharmD, is the Abdominal Transplant Pharmacy Specialist at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Strong Memorial Hospital. In her current role, she provides comprehensive pharmacy services to kidney and liver transplant recipients across inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Al-Bahou collaborates with the multidisciplinary transplant team on immunosuppression management, infectious prophylaxis, and medication education to optimize patient outcomes. She completed a PGY2 Residency in Solid Organ Transplant at the University of Florida Health Shands and a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the same institution. Dr. Al-Bahou is actively involved in precepting pharmacy residents and students, as well as contributing to protocol development and quality improvement initiatives. She is a member of the American Society of Transplantation (AST) Research Committee, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), and the Rho Chi Honor Society. Her professional interests include transplant immunosuppression optimization, infectious disease management, and mentorship in clinical pharmacy education.
