Professional Background

Dr. Jill Cholette is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the division of Critical Care Medicine. She earned her MD degree from the University of Rochester and where she graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at the U of R and is Board Certified in both specialties. She went on to complete a Pediatric Critical Care fellowship also at the U of R and is now triple boarded in Pediatric Critical Care as well. Dr. Cholette has completed her Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship and is now board eligible for Pediatric Cardiology. She is also an attending in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care unit.

Dr. Jill Cholette has research interests in thrombosis and use of blood products in critically ill pediatric patients, particularly those undergoing cardiac surgery. Dr. Cholette is working to clarify the role of inflammation in the development of thrombosis, and to determine the optimal anticoagulation regimen for the pediatric post-op cardiac surgery patient. Her other work involves blood utilization in the pediatric ICU patient, and she is developing a transfusion strategy for the pediatric post-op cardiac surgery patients. Dr. Cholette's clinical interests are: thrombosis, hemostasis, and inflammation.
