About Me

Dr. Gupta was born in India and moved to USA at the age of 9 and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from a combined BA-MD program in 1981 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Virginia in ...
Dr. Gupta was born in India and moved to USA at the age of 9 and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from a combined BA-MD program in 1981 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia in 1984. She then finished her subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases at SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine in 1986. Currently she is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. She joined the Clinton Medical Associates in July 2003. She has taught medical students in introducing clinical medicine to students in their preclinical years. She has interests in preventive care, infectious diseases and in a patient centered practice style. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America. Between 1986-1992, she was the Director of Infectious Diseases at Trinity Lutheran Hospital and was in private practice with the Infectious Disease Associates of Kansas City. She came to Rochester in 1992 and has been the Medical Director at CHN (1993-1995), Assistant Hospital Epidemiologist at SMH (1995-1997) and in practice at The Genesee Hospital (1995-2001). Dr. Gupta is married and has a preteen aged daughter. Her interests include South Indian Carnatic Music, reading and ethnic vegetarian cooking. She is a member of a multigenerational book club.
