Doctor provided what seemed to be a standard speech about the procedure, which was all basic information that most educated people should already know. That was fine, but it was all information that I already knew, and I would have preferred to spend the very limited time we had discussing more "advanced" concerns and questions, but the doctor wanted to get through all his info to me first. When I did have a chance to ask questions, his answer was very dismissive, and he seemed to be in a hurry to get on to his next appointment, so It seemed like there was no time for further discussion.

Dr. Gentile is an excellent practitioner. He is knowledgeable and thorough about the many tests, X-rays, CT, etc. I wish he would spend less time looking at his computer and would take the time to talk directly to me and explain what he is looking at the test results and and many scans. I wish he would do more of this to make me comfortable with the solutions /treatments he is suggesting. I know he is an excellent doctor.

Robotic surgery was done at University of Albany. Nice people, not such good organization. Dr. Gentile's office notes explain staging very clearly, which I appreciate. It is also noted that he has all the Albany chart data.

The first time I came to him he was great. He took the time to explain things and give me options. The last few visits he was always rushed and doesn't really listen to what I have to say. The last visit he was already an hour behind by 10am. I told him I had problems with 2 of my options not working well. He said I can try the injections again or do surgery, there's nothing else for us to try. What do I want to do? How about letting me talk to the nurse or PA to see if they could help with direction on the injections or pump? Noone gave direction on how to properly use the injection or pump, just here's the stuff, go try it. Maybe I'm doing It wrong? It just frustrating that he is too rushed to listen and spend the time to help.

I told Dr. Gentile that the Testosterone Gel had no apparent affect after 6 months use. I told him I was willing to continue it. However I wish he had explained his reasons for me continuing. Most of my appointment time with Dr. Gentile is spent with him totally focused on typing on his computer. I have no idea what or why. He begins typing immediately upon entering the room and continues for several minutes. No communication with me. I can only conclude he's writing his report on his previous patient. I never experience this with any other physician. It's troubling.I didn't fully receive the advice and opinion I expected from Dr. Gentile at this visit. Some surprisingly different from a recent previous visit.
