Biography

Dr. Giampoli is a cytopathologist and surgical pathologist. Within cytopathology, her areas of expertise include fine needle aspiration, performance and interpretation, thyroid gland cytology, and head and neck cytology. Within surgical pathology, her areas of expertise include head and neck, thyroid gland, and lung pathology.

Research

Dr. Giampoli's research interest is in mechanisms for deriving maximum information from needle aspiration samples. The minimally-invasive technique of fine needle aspiration lends itself to molecular diagnostic studies, chromosomal analysis, and other ancillary studies including flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry.
