At UR Medicine, I help people get back on their feet, so they can go back to doing the activities they enjoy. I specialize in the treatment of bunions, hammertoe, foot and ankle sprains, general foot and arch pain, foot fractures, arthritis, nerve related issues, and diabetic foot ulcers/limb salvage surgery. I have extensive experience in the treatment of foot and ankle conditions and perform elective and reconstructive foot surgery. I am also specially trained in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery as well as foot surgery. Not everyone needs surgery. I offer my patients individualized treatments make the most sense for them personally. I pride myself in offering my patients surgical or nonsurgical options when appropriate. As a board certified podiatric surgeon, when surgery is needed, I thoroughly explain the procedure and what they can expect afterward.ResearchI have presented and published numerous articles on topics related to podiatric care and surgery. I have also co-authored a book on low limb muscle reconstruction surgery. I am native in both English and Spanish languages. As a Research Associate for the University of Rochester, I worked in Rochester’s inner city to decrease asthma symptoms among school-aged children. In doing so, I saw the need for Podiatric care within the Hispanic community. I am board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.CredentialsSpecialtiesEducation2013DPM | Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine/SciencePost-doctoral Training & Residency10/07/2014 - 06/24/2016Residency in Podiatry at St. Joseph Hospital Graduate Medical Education07/01/2013 - 09/19/2014Internship in Podiatry at Memorial Hospital of Rhode IslandAwards2009Scholl Merit Scholar Award2002Kodak Young Leadership Award2002Ibero American Action League Minority ScholarshipVIEW ALL expand_morePublicationsJournal Articles2019Fagnano M.
