Dr. Vavrina received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. She completed her residency in Family Medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where she served as chief resident.

Dr. Vavrina's choice to be a family physician lies in her unyielding conviction that providing primary care entails knowing the entire story and understanding patients as individuals and treating them as such. Each patient has his/her own beliefs, values, culture and family. She believes it's her responsibility to treat patients within the context of their own life style. She strives to partner with her patients to provide a "whole-person" approach to diagnosis, treatment and care.

She enjoys providing care for her patients of all ages with a special interest in adolescent health, women's health and sports medicine. Dr. Vavrina also practices osteopathic manipulative medicine, which is a form of "hands on" medical diagnosis and treatment of a variety of ailments based on an in-depth understanding of the musculoskeletal, circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems.

On a personal note, Dr. Vavrina enjoys the greater Rochester area with her husband and children. She takes great pride that she grew up in Rochester and plans to raise her children in the same community. She loves being outdoors, cooking and drawing/crafting.

Dr. Vavrina is accepting pediatric patients only.
