Biography

Ummara Shah M.D. is an adult Rheumatologist. She attended college at Barnard College in New York City where she earned a degree in biology, graduating cum laude. She then moved to Rochester to attend medical school here at the University of Rochester. Upon graduation she completed her internship at University of Virginia Medical Center and then completed the rest of her internal medicine residency at New York Hospital-Weill Cornell in New York City. She then worked one year as a hospitalist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She completed her fellowship in Rheumatology at New York University, Hospital for Joint Diseases. She has done clinical research in lupus as a resident and as a fellow and has a special clinical interest in Lupus.
