Dr. Ogie is originally from Buffalo, N.Y. and completed high school at Hamburg High. She attended the State University of New York at Buffalo (S.U.N.Y. Buffalo), where she majored in Biochemistry and met her husband, Sam. She was accepted into Medical School at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo during her Freshman year of College. She matched for residency in Chicago at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she spent three years. Both Dr.Ogie’s and her husband’s family live in either Buffalo or Rochester, so she came back East and, in 2004, joined the full time faculty in the Hospital Medicine Division. As an Associate Professor in Medicine, she serves as Medical Director of the 7-3600 unit. She is the Advisor for the Internal Medicine Interest Group, a member of the Clinical Competency Committee for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, the Medical Director of the Medical Admission Officer position, a member of the Quality Assurance Committee for the Department of Medicine and a member of the Nurse Residency Advisory Council. She also has an appointment in the School of Nursing. She teaches residents, medical students and advanced practice providers. She is involved in quality improvement projects on 7-3600 working closely with Operations Excellence. Dr. Ogie works part-time so that she may spend more time with her family. She currently lives in Penfield, a suburb of Rochester, with her husband and children, Abigail, Anna and Tommy.
