Dr. Sosa is the Chief Quality Officer for Golisano Children's Hospital. She oversees patient, caregiver, and employee safety efforts across the organization, working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure we deliver the highest quality of equitable care in a safe environment. She served as the Associate Chief Quality Officer from 2021-2023. Dr. Sosa is the Associate Director for Quality Improvement Education in the UR Medicine Quality Institute, developing and delivering quality improvement education and fostering continuous improvement efforts across UR Medicine. She is the course director for the UR Medicine Leader Fellowship Program Quality Track and is an Associate Scholar in the Quality Institute.

Dr. Sosa graduated from the State University of New York College at Geneseo and the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry prior to completing pediatric residency, chief residency, and Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. During her fellowship, she received a Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research from the University of Cincinnati and completed the Quality Scholars Program through the James M. Anderson Center for Health System Excellence. Dr. Sosa joined the faculty at Golisano Children’s Hospital in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine in 2021 as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics.

Dr. Sosa is interested in pursuing system-level innovations to improve the quality and value of care for hospitalized children. She participates in clinical research and improvement science projects which focus on providing safe, high-value, and equitable care in the pediatric inpatient setting. During fellowship, her quality improvement initiatives focused on improving situation awareness for hospitalized children demonstrating signs of clinical deterioration and those receiving high-risk therapies. She also received funding from the Academic Pediatric Association Young Investigator Award to study medical device complications in hospitalized children with medical complexity. Dr. Sosa participates in multi-center safety and quality improvement collaboratives, including the Children’s Hospitals’ Solutions for Patient Safety network.
