Biography

Dr. Nathaniel Bayer is committed to delivering comprehensive, high-quality care to hospitalized children and their families. One of his primary passions is taking care of children with complex medical problems who require extensive family support, coordination, and partnership across multiple sub-specialties and care systems.

Research

Dr. Nathaniel Bayer's research goal is to understand the health of children with medical complexity including children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a family context. He is studying the family, community, and health system factors that support family and caregiver resilience to better understand these children’s quality of life and healthcare utilization. He is committed to incorporating humanistic and biopsychosocial principles into his research efforts. In the future, he is planning to develop and implement family support programs to improve the health outcomes of these children and their families.
