Biography

Professional Background

Matthew McIntosh, MD, board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, joined the practice in 2022 from the University at Buffalo Internal Medicine and Pediatrics program. He completed his residency at UB and then became faculty for the residency program as a teaching hospitalist and primary care physician. He joins URMC as a hospitalist for the Complex Care Center at Highland Hospital.

Dr. McIntosh has clinical interests in hospital care of medically Complex patients serviced by the Complex Care Center. Since completing residency, he has worked with this patient population in the inpatient setting. He is passionate about providing excellent care to this deserving population.

Dr. McIntosh is interested in clinical research focusing on in hospital care of complex patients, especially those with sickle cell disease. He hopes to meaningfully improve the care for patients requiring hospitalization.
