Jennifer I. Melaragno, PharmD, BCPS, FAST, is an Abdominal Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the University of Rochester Medical Center and has been practicing for over 10 years. Additionally, she serves as Adjunct Faculty at St. John Fisher College. She earned a doctorate of pharmacy degree from the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She subsequently pursued post-graduate training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis, MO, where she completed both PGY1 pharmacy practice and PGY2 solid organ transplant training. Following her residencies, she practiced as a clinical specialist in lung transplantation for three years at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Board-certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist and a Fellow of the American Society of Transplantation, she is a leader in transplant pharmacy and actively participates on the national level through committee membership, research, and education. She previously served on the executive boards of both the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Immunology and Transplantation Practice and Research Network (IMTR PRN) and the American Society of Transplantation's (AST) Transplant Pharmacy Community of Practice as secretary/treasurer and Member-at-Large, respectively. She has served on a multitude of workgroups through both ACCP and AST. Currently, she is participating in a multicenter trial to better understand the natural history of medication management after transplant, a systematic review of opioid use in transplantation, and conducting a survey to understand PGY2 Transplant Pharmacy research publication rates.

Within the University of Rochester Medical Center, she served on the Research Subjects Review Board as a board member for several years. She is the current co-chair of the Pharmacy Resident Research Committee, and she participates on the Resident Wellness Committee. For over 10 years, she has served as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents.
