Patient Care Bio

Dr. Ronald M. Gonzalez specializes in all aspects of upper extremity disorders, with specific specialization in sports injuries, trauma and degenerative conditions of the hand and elbow, including microsurgery. He also has special interests in shoulder related injuries.



Dr. Gonzalez earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, becoming the chief resident in July of 2008. He went on to complete his fellowship in hand and upper extremities injuries at the University of Rochester. Prior to joining URMC Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Dr. Gonzalez was practicing orthopaedics in New Windsor, NY.

Dr. Gonzalez joined URMC Orthopaedics in 2012 as an Assistant Professor. He is a professional member of several medical and academic associations and organizations. He has lectured on numerous professional and academic topics throughout his career.
