I am a native of Rochester and was raised in Holley, NY. My passion is bringing the best orthopaedic care to rural settings. I was the first surgeon to perform a same day discharge hip replacement at a rural facility where I had a practice. I put a heavy emphasis on joint replacement and trauma. I have performed a significant amount of sports, hand, shoulder and elbow and some foot and ankle surgeries. I specialize in hip and knee replacements. I use an anterior approach to hip replacement that allows for less post-operative pain and faster recovery. I also perform robotic knee replacements.

As we discussed potential treatment (physical therapy/occupational therapy to try and help the symptoms and having my primary doctor go through the process with rheumatology to make sure it's not rheumatoid arthritis) we never discussed medications, however on the visit summary packet it said we discussed in full medications both oral and topical. It never happened.

He was very rushed and just whipped through whatever he was doing without explanation did not seem to have time to hear about much to do with where I was at. I felt like I had to stop talking. It was very strange. It's entirely possible that he's an amazing doctor [...] but as a patient that did not feel like patient care at all [...]. I will be back to see him in a couple of weeks and hope it will be a better appointment. I know what it's like to feel rushed [...], but it's not fun to be on the receiving end of that as a patient That said until I have the MRI done it probably doesn't really matter. I just felt like I was taking up his time, even though it was only about five minutes.

After my distal radius fracture, my experience with Dr. Valente in the ER and follow-up appointments was excellent. He is a compassionate listener, responding to comments and answering each question in depth. His recommendations were helpful; he is realistic and hopeful in his evaluations of expected progress and challenges. I trust him and am thankful for his help. The office runs very smoothly and each staff person was warm and helpful. Dr. Valente Is so nice. He smiles reassuringly, and I think that Is Important when one is in a stressful situation. Doctor Valente is very good at his job. On this visit I had sutures removed after surgery. I didn't know how much it would hurt to have staples removed from my leg. I could have handled it better if he told me to brace myself, take deep breaths, or something. I felt faint and nauseous and went into shock from the pain. I asked for a short break to catch my breath and he asked me to power through. We made it! I thought I could have handled it better if I knew what to expect. Hopefully, I will never need to have a broken ankle fixed again :-) . I still give Dr. Valente 10/10 points for his care.
