Biography

Dr. Philip enjoys working in an inpatient setting for the acuity in managing patients with a focused goal. She enjoys interacting with the various disciplines and departments within the hospital to provide optimal care for patients. Dr. Philip is the medical director for 8N, a general care unit in the Children’s Hospital.

Professional Background

Dr. Philip is interested in resident education and seeks to incorporate teaching into her daily routine as much as possible. She collaborates with the APP’s, nurses and residents to improve communications between the patient, family, and medical team. Dr. Philip received the Patient and Family Centered Top Performer's Award in 2013.

Research

Dr. Philip's primary focus has been to improve the care of asthma patients. She has been working with a quality improvement team to make care for asthma patients more consistent regardless of where patients are treated.

As the medical director for 8N, Dr. Philip works with team members throughout the hospital to help provide comprehensive, safe care for specific patient populations who come to 8N, such as children with medical complexity.
