Biography

Dr. Readlynn earned her B.A. in Neuroscience and Women’s Studies at Colgate University in 2007 and her MD at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2011 with an emphasis in medical education. She is the Unit Medical Director for the Medical Observation Unit or MOU, where she is co-leader of an interdisciplinary team that follows the Pursuing Excellence Initiative (PEI). This plan focuses on quality improvement. The purpose of this unit is to improve mobility for patients, in turn helping them to return home quicker and assists in limiting extended rehabilitation stays. Furthermore, she aids in overall efforts to better patient flow. Moreover, Dr. Readlynn is an assessment author for the Aquifer Internal Medicine online course. She is also the Hospital Medicine Division Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Mini-Fellow, working to improve her skills in utilizing POCUS to extend the physical exam and assist in clinical decision-making. Lastly, she is the Director of the Internal Medicine Sub-Internship at Strong Memorial Hospital (this will be called Acting Internship next year), a rotation for 4th year medical students to prepare them for their internship.
