It would be to have more doctors like Dr Mark Hodges so it would be easier to get a needed (unexpected) post-op checkup like the one I recently had after an emergency coronary stent implantation out-of-town. Dr. Hodges, I'm sorry to say I don't recall the other people's names from the receptionist and the nurse/med tech who took care of me, but the records should help identify them. Everyone did an excellent job. I'm a fairly new patient to this practice after spending more than 30 years with Dr. Kerper, who is, in my opinion, the gold standard that every PCP should emulate. I'm confident Dr. Hodges has all the critical attributes to meet those standards.

Dr. Hodges was very concerned about my pulse rate and BP and my specific medications. He ordered an EKG to ensure there weren't any anomalies that might need the attention of the ED. He adjusted some of my doses when they looked OK, and we discussed ongoing home monitoring of my BP and HR and using MyChart to keep him informed.

Dr. Hodges and the team are our new PCP after Dr. Bob Kerper retired. Dr. Kerper was at the pinnacle of the PCP profession. It's unlikely anyone can replace him. My relationship with Dr. Hodges is new. I expect with time; he will get close to Dr. Kerper in meeting my expectations. Every individual has a style of working, and I am starting to relate well with Dr. Hodges. I am pleased with his thoroughness, listing skills, and focus on the most important aspects of my complex set of needs. This visit was follow up to an unplanned hospital stay after outpatient surgery. Dr. Hodges saw me within a week of my discharge. He reviewed the events that caused the hospital stay and immediately ordered a CT scan that probably should have been done while I was in the hospital.

Dr. Hodges has been so helpful with all of my medical issues. He always get back to me on my chart. During my visit he always asks me do you any other questions. During my last visit he sent me for a X-ray - even setting up an appointment for me that morning. Very helpful - he showed me how to correctly do the exercises he was prescribing . They really helped my back pain -which I have been struggling with. It's always comforting when you're meeting with Dr. Hodges he's very familiar with your latest health issues & your recent appointments with other Drs. The experience went fairly well. Dr. Hodges is a good doctor, but lacks a good bedside manner. He rarely looks at me when speaking to me. I understand that he has to input information as he goes along, but it would be nice to feel like he really cares. I just feel like he is taking time to be with me, but not to really know me. Prior to Dr. Hodges, my PCP was Dr. John Andolina - guess I was spoiled by having him, because he was amazing on every level of care.

This was a follow up visit for an illness. Dr Hodges came in with a plan to treat it and listened to what I had to say. He then changed the plan which was best for me at this point. He spends time, listens and made me a part of the decision. I feel like he really cares about the outcome of each visit and puts effort into a good outcome. I like having him as my physician.

Dr. Hodges care is exceptional and well beyond any other care I have sought in the URMC system. Usual treatment is at best mediocre with high levels of difficulty accessing - including long waits until appointments, even longer waits to schedule procedures, sudden unexplained cancellations after long waits for the procedures. I have had several experiences in which I had to contact patient relations to get needed treatment in a timely way. Dr. Hodges is exceptional in responsiveness, attention to concerns and thoroughness in assessments. Given how many providers come and go in the URMC system...I am amazed that Dr. Hodges continues on as a PCP in the system.
