Biography

I am originally from the Pacific Northwest and moved to the East Coast to attend medical school, where I earned an MD from Boston University School of Medicine. Upon completion of medical school, I moved to the University of Rochester to study Orthopaedic Surgery, where I completed residency and fellowship programs. After post-graduate training, I completed international traveling fellowships in hip and knee preservation surgery in Bern, Switzerland and Lyon, France.
As a major part of my practice, I treat injuries specific to athletes through both surgical procedures and non-surgical modalities. I specialize in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery to address knee, shoulder and hip pain, injury and dysfunction. As a unique and focused subspecialty within Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, I have a special interest in treating complex patellofemoral instability, multiligamentous knee injury, complex knee deformity and hip deformity.
I am active in the community taking care of our local athletes and currently serving as the Head Team Physician for University of Rochester Athletics.

Research

I am certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. I have conducted research and authored several articles looking at patient reported outcomes in sports medicine knee, shoulder and hip arthroscopic surgery.
