James C. Metcalf, M.D.

James C. Metcalf Jr., M.D., is Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and serves Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca. He specializes in spine disorders and cancer care.

He relocated from Albany, Ga., where he was on staff at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and clinical professor at the University of Tennessee-Memphis since 1994. Metcalf previously practiced at the Columbus Neurological Institute, Hughston Clinic and Neurological Associates in Columbus, Ga., and at Semmes Murphy Clinic in Memphis, Tenn.

He received his undergraduate degree from Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., in 1976 and graduated from Medical College of Georgia. He completed his residency training at the University of Tennessee.
