Michele Handzel, PharmD, BCCCP, earned a bachelor of science degree in biology and biochemistry from Mercyhurst College and a doctorate of pharmacy degree from the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Upon graduation, she completed a PGY1 residency in pharmacy practice at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, DE, and a PGY2 residency in critical care pharmacy at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Handzel is currently an emergency medicine clinical staff pharmacist at Strong Memorial Hospital. She is a preceptor for APPE students as well as PGY1 and PGY2 residents on emergency medicine rotations.
