Biography

Professional Background

Samantha Leistman, PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College. Upon graduation, she completed post-graduate training with UR Medicine, graduating from the PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency program at URMC and the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy program at Highland Hospital. Following her residencies, Samantha began practicing as an Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for the UR Medicine Primary Care Network.

Samantha is an active member of ACCP (Ambulatory Care PRN Research Process Committee), Vizient (Ambulatory Pharmacy Development Committee), and the UR Medicine Residency Advisory Committee. She currently serves as a preceptor for the PGY1 Community Pharmacy residents at URMC and the PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residents from both URMC and Highland Hospital. Additionally, Samantha is an adjunct faculty member for the St. John Fisher College Wegmans School of Pharmacy and Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where she serves as a preceptor for both IPPE and APPE students.

Dr. Leistman's professional interests include chronic disease management, development and expansion of ambulatory pharmacy services and workflows, clinical research, and serving as a professional mentor for residents.
