Biography

Professional Background

Dr. Mandell’s clinical interests are in advanced cardiac imaging including cardiac MRI and CT, and transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, as well as general pediatric cardiology.

He attended medical school at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY followed by pediatric residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital/Brown University Medical School in Providence, RI. He then completed a pediatric cardiology fellowship with an additional senior fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. Most recently, Dr. Mandell has joined the faculty at the University of Rochester Medical Center as an assistant professor of pediatrics in the division of pediatric cardiology. His research interests have focused on the use of 4D flow MRI to understand hemodynamic patterns to predict and improve outcomes in congenital heart disease.
