“I believe in building partnerships with patients and their families to help them make the most informed decisions for their care.”

Areas of Expertise:

• Aortic disease
• Bypass and endovascular interventions to prevent amputation
• Open and endovascular procedures to prevent stroke and treat aneurysms throughout the body
• Peripheral vascular disease
• Vascular access, including creating fistulas and grafts for dialysis
• Vascular trauma and emergency vascular surgery

I chose this field because vascular disease is not like other surgical diseases—it is chronic, meaning that as surgeons we often get to know our patients over the course of diagnosis, treatment and surveillance of the disease. As a surgeon, I love that I can really tailor treatments to meet a patient’s goals. I believe vascular surgery has it all—the surgeries are technically complex, the technology is always changing and improving and we get to work in all parts of the body.

During my surgical residency, I completed a VA-funded Quality Improvement and Outcomes research fellowship. I have a special interest in outcomes research, which is essentially learning from our previous surgical experience in an effort to improve future care for patients. I am also looking forward to working with referring providers to ensure their patients get the best care for their condition, whether or not it requires surgery.

Ratings & Reviews

At URMC, we believe that patients should be empowered to make the right decisions regarding their personal healthcare. To do so, transparency is critical. URMC partners with Press Ganey, to survey our patients about all aspects of their care experience. We are now putting this pertinent information at your fingertips by displaying star ratings for our providers along with anonymous patient comments on our website. This will help you make better-informed choices about how and with whom you seek care. Click here to learn more about the surveys used to generate this vital information.
