Biography

Dr. Corredor is a Pediatric Hospitalist who provides acute care for hospitalized children, from infancy through adolescence. She practices evidence-based medicine with a special interest in providing multidisciplinary, standardized care for pediatric patients. She strives to deliver care which is family-centered and culturally competent. While she cares for children with a variety of medical conditions, her clinical interests are in the management of pediatric asthma, bone and joint infections, fever in the neonatal period, and pediatric sepsis. Dr. Corredor is passionate about medical education and currently serves as the Pediatric Clerkship Director.

Professional Background

Dr. Corredor is a graduate of the University of Florida (BS) and the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University (MD). She completed her pediatric residency training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Corredor served as a Chief Resident of Pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic. She joined the University of Rochester Medical Center as a Pediatric Hospitalist in 2021 and currently serves as the Pediatric Clerkship Director. Dr. Corredor is passionate about developing strategies for recruitment and retention of underrepresented medical trainees and faculty. She has participated in national organizations focused on this goal and has served on recruitment committees in graduate and undergraduate medical education with this purpose.

Research

Dr. Corredor enjoys studying the effects of curriculum development and implementation on quality of care and trainee competency. She has developed and implemented curricula in the areas of Anticipatory Guidance, Respiratory Interventions, Neonatal Mock Codes, Pediatric Sepsis, Medical Spanish, and Career Development.

Dr. Corredor has also participated in quality improvement projects related to Patient and Family Centered (I-PASS) Rounds and pediatric venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk assessment and prophylaxis. Dr. Corredor enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams to develop standard protocols of care for common pediatric conditions and led the development of a Pediatric Osteoarticular Infection protocol at the Mayo Clinic.
