I am a board-eligible, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and shoulder replacement/arthroplasty. I perform minimally invasive surgery on the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle, providing patients quicker recovery and less time away from athletics, school and work. My expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, including ligament tears, joint instability, cartilage injuries, osteoarthritis, tendon injuries and fractures. I am deeply invested in understanding the unique demands that athletes face and have dedicated myself to providing the highest level of care to my patients who strive to excel in their respective sports.

My ultimate goal as your orthopaedic surgeon is to help you recover from your injury or condition and not only regain your quality of life, but reach that next level. From both a personal and professional level I genuinely understand the frustration and challenges that come with musculoskeletal injuries. Although I have extensive surgical training, I employ a comprehensive approach to patient care, utilizing both non-surgical and surgical methods to achieve the best possible outcomes. I believe in the importance of open communication, active collaboration and personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals. Whether your journey is to obtain a scholarship, achieve All-Greater Rochester (AGR) selection, shine on your pro-day, or throw the ball in the yard with your kids, my job is to get you back in the game. Together, we can create a plan that not only addresses your immediate concerns but also sets you up for long-term success and well-being.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, playing hockey, golfing, hiking, going on surfing trips, as well as GoPro videography. During the winter season, you can often find me skating on the backyard pond, while in the summer, I enjoy paddle boarding in the Finger Lakes.

During my diverse and immersive training, I had the unique opportunity to work alongside experts in the field in Cleveland, Los Angeles, Ventura and Rochester where I learned the latest advancements in diagnostic techniques, surgical procedures and non-surgical interventions. I was also fortunate to serve as the team physician for local high schools, collegiate and professional sports teams.

This invaluable experience has allowed me to develop a more complete understanding of the dynamic nature of sports-related injuries, along with the most effective strategies for their prevention and treatment. My expertise is in rotator cuff repair, shoulder replacement, ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) repair/reconstruction, distal biceps repair, medial and lateral epicondylitis, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair/reconstruction, meniscus repair, osteochondritis dissecans, cartilage restoration, patellofemoral instability, joint restoration and regenerative medicine (PRP and stem cell therapy). Whether you are a professional athlete, a weekend warrior, or an individual seeking to regain mobility, I am committed to providing you with the highest quality orthopaedic care.

Being a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) specializing in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine, brings a unique and valuable perspective to patient care. My training encompasses the same rigorous medical education and clinical training as allopathic physicians (MD), with the addition of more than 400 hours of hands-on musculoskeletal training. Osteopathic medicine focuses on treating the whole person, recognizing the interconnectedness of the body's systems and their impact on overall health. This holistic perspective aligns perfectly with the field of orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. Rather than solely focusing on the specific injury or condition, I consider the individual's lifestyle, biomechanics and overall well-being to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

As a DO, I hope to bring a humanistic, patient-centered approach to orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. By combining traditional medical knowledge with osteopathic principles, I strive to deliver well-rounded, compassionate care that considers the individual as a whole. My goal is to not only help patients recover from injuries but also empower them to lead healthier, more active lives and prevent future injuries.

Beyond my technical expertise, I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of my field. I remain actively involved in research, publishing articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, participating in international podcast research discussions and presenting at nationally recognized conferences. By staying abreast of the latest advancements, I can offer my patients cutting-edge treatments backed by evidence-based care. In my current position as assistant professor of orthopaedics at University of Rochester School of Medicine, I take an active teaching role with physician assistant/associate students, medical students, residents and fellows. I have collaborated on research examining distal biceps repair, ACL reconstruction with quadriceps autograft, ACL preservation and repair, medial collateral ligament repair, tendon avulsion injuries, infection management in orthopaedic surgery, perioperative optimization and fracture repair and fixation. Utilizing patient-reported outcome assessments and minimal clinical difference calculations, my goal is to bridge the gap from clinical research to improve patient outcomes.
