Christopher Monson is a pediatric intensivist who treats children in need of critical care due to illness, injury, or surgery. Dr. Monson’s professional interests include child advocacy, health policy, and community outreach.

Christopher grew up and completed his undergraduate degree in Santa Barbara, California before moving to New York State for his post-baccalaureate and medical education. Christopher grew up and completed his undergraduate degree in Santa Barbara, California before moving to New York State for his post-baccalaureate and medical education. He trained in pediatrics in West Michigan and gave Iowa a try while completing a pediatric critical care fellowship. Dr. Monson is excited to return to the Empire State for the opportunity both to care for the region’s critically ill pediatric population and to advocate for the better care of children everywhere.

Dr. Monson’s primary research interest is in evaluating the effect of public health policy on related health outcomes, with the goal of providing evidence to better inform future policy. Other areas of interest include quality improvement initiatives to advance communication, collaboration, and safe transport between pediatric intensive care units and referring providers in surrounding communities.
