Biography

I am a triple fellowship trained surgeon in arthroplasty, orthopaedic oncology and trauma. I specialize in joint replacement surgeries as well as all major reconstructive procedures around the hip and knee. I am an expert in revision hip and knee replacement and I am equipped to manage all complications that follow these major procedures. I have a special interest in robotic and navigation assisted hip and knee replacements, anterior hip replacement, partial and total knee replacement, periprosthetic infections and complex periprosthetic fractures around major joints.

In my practice, I take an individualized approach to each of my patients. I get to know them and they get to know me very well throughout their journey to recovery. Patient education before every surgery is a mandatory step in my approach. While a primary total hip or knee replacement can be a very smooth procedure with fast recovery, a failed hip or knee replacement is a devastating condition that requires a special expertise, a detailed approach and thorough planning with a particular skill set in hand to get the best results. I intend to offer my patients all this along with my expertise to get them back to whatever they loved to do before their disability.

I am a member of many local and international scientific societies. I published extensively in the literature and I am active in clinical and basic science research. I am an AO Trauma certified lecturer and instructor and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Research

I have a great appreciation for the importance of research. I have given national presentations and authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. I have published in the field of orthopaedic oncology mainly focusing on pelvic reconstructive procedures, pelvic resections and megaprosthetic reconstruction. I was also involved in basic science translational research investigating potential targets for treating osteosarcoma in transgenic mice.
