THE GOERGEN INSTITUTE FOR DATA SCIENCE
One of the emerging disciplines of the 21st century, Data Science is the creation and application of powerful new methods to collect, curate, analyze, and make discoveries from large-scale data. The university has created The Goergen Institute for Data Science to serve as a university-wide hub for data science- related research and educational programs, while further facilitating collaborations through a new state-of-the-art facility as a home for data science.
ROCHESTER CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN DATA SCIENCE
New York State is committed to be a national leader in analysing and commercializing the uses of data to improve the quality of life and fuel economic growth. Funding the new Rochester Center of Excellence in Data Science (CoE) will achieve this goal. In a unified strategy with the University of Rochester Institute for Data Science (IDS), the center will collaborate with other academic partners, industry, and government agencies to support research, commercialization and incubation, consultations and resources, and education and training.
