Our vision is to create value by integrating the management of the Medical Center’s main campus, off campus, and network wide real estate assets into the UR and URMC strategic decision-making processes.
The Office of Space Planning serves as the central point of contact to assure effective building and land utilization through strategic space planning and capital development. We manage space requests and assignments, capital project planning and oversight, and assess, recommend and execute space assignment decisions and conduct productivity analysis for research space. We work closely with Real Estate Services, Facilities, Planning & Project Management, Environmental Health & Safety, and Parking to provide guidance on major planning initiatives for the Medical Center pertaining to space allocation, facilities utilization, and master plans (site and facilities, landscaping, signage and wayfinding, art and aesthetics).
The Real Estate Services office, in coordination with the Space Planning office, manages the identification, selection, purchase, renovation or construction, and property management of URMC off-campus properties consisting primarily of outpatient medical and general office programs.
We provide exceptional services to help URMC, its affiliates, and the University to fulfill its missions of patient care, research, teaching and learning, and community health. We strive to generate the highest return and lowest cost over the long term in the strategic management of space and real estate.
