Medford Multicare Center for Living, Medford

The Front Entrance of the Medford Center

Project SEARCH® at Medford Multicare Center for Living is a transition to work program for students with developmental disabilities in their last year of high school. It is currently the only Project SEARCH® program operating on Long Island. The program teaches students employability skills with the goal of competitive employment. Students will tell you that they joined Project SEARCH® for various reasons such as “I want to work and meet people,” or “I want to be independent.”

The program is comprised of students from Eastern Suffolk BOCES component districts. Thank you to each of the component school districts who give students the opportunity to participate in a full-day work based learning experience. Each intern will complete three 10-week internships with the support from a staff mentor, teacher, teacher assistant, and job coach.
