Mind/Body Strategies for Fertility Support
At Strong Fertility Center, we understand that fertility care is not just about medical treatment—it’s also about nurturing your emotional and physical well-being. That’s why we offer a range of mind/body strategies to help support you through every step of your fertility journey.
Emotional Support & Fertility Counseling
Your emotional health is a vital part of your overall fertility care. We offer supportive counseling sessions—at no additional charge—to individuals and couples undergoing treatment at our center. Common areas of focus include:
- Adjusting to an infertility diagnosis
- Coping with the emotional ups and downs of treatment
- Grief and loss
- Communication and intimacy challenges
- Decision-making support
Sessions are held virtually via Zoom, with morning, afternoon, and evening appointments available. To request an appointment, please call (585) 487-3378.
We can also assist with referrals to the Perinatal Consultation Clinic for guidance on psychiatric medication use during conception and pregnancy, as well as referrals for ongoing counseling or therapy.
Acupuncture and Fertility
As part of our whole-person approach to care, we collaborate with trusted providers who offer acupuncture services to support fertility and overall wellness. Acupuncture may help by:
- Promoting relaxation and stress reduction
- Enhancing blood flow to reproductive organs
- Supporting the body during ovarian stimulation, insemination, or embryo transfer
Acupuncture is often used alongside assisted reproductive technologies to support the body and mind during treatment. Talk to your provider about whether this may be a good addition to your care plan.

Nutrition and Fertility: The Mediterranean Diet
Nutritional habits can play an important role in supporting reproductive health. Research suggests that following a Mediterranean-style diet may be beneficial for individuals trying to conceive. This pattern of eating emphasizes:
- Fruits and vegetables
- Whole grains
- Legumes and nuts
- Healthy fats like olive oil
- Moderate fish and poultry
- Limited red meat and processed foods
This approach may help support hormonal balance, reduce inflammation, and promote overall health. Consider speaking with a fertility nutrition specialist for personalized guidance.
Exercise and Physical Activity
Regular physical activity can be beneficial for emotional well-being, hormonal regulation, and overall health. In general, moderate-intensity exercise—such as walking, yoga, swimming, or cycling—can be safely incorporated into fertility care. However, intense or high-impact activity may not be appropriate in all situations.
Important: Always discuss your exercise routine with your fertility provider, especially during ovarian stimulation, pregnancy attempts, or early pregnancy, to ensure it's safe and appropriate for your individual treatment plan.
