Rochester River Run/Walk 5K set for April 6

Join the Friends of Strong and the Strong Memorial Hospital Transplant Units for the 13th annual Rochester River Run/Walk to benefit our transplant patients and families.

As more patients receive organs here—including heart, liver, pancreas, and kidney transplants—many need financial assistance, both as they await 2014RiverRunslider.jpgoperations and after. Former patients also make the trip back to Rochester for follow-up care, swelling the ranks of individuals needing help.

In 2013, the River Run/Walk raised approximately $16,000, which helped provide aid to the 104 patients who received organ transplants. But with 448 patients currently on the transplant waiting list, there remains a significant need for financial assistance to maintain the costly medical attention required as they await a donor.
