Run or Walk with Greater Purpose
A collaboration between Friends of Strong, the hospital’s Transplant Units, and the Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network, the Rochester River Run/Walk 5K is an annual fundraiser supporting those who await, undergo, and recover from transplant surgery. It promotes awareness and educates the public about organ donation, while commemorating organ donors and recipients—playing a critical role in supporting quality experiences and healthy outcomes for patients, their families, and our communities.
Money raised goes directly toward the Transplant Patient Fund, which provides transplant patients (heart, liver, kidney, and pancreas) with financial assistance before and after surgery, to help cover medication costs, lodging, and other patient care expenses. Thanks to your generosity and support, we've raised more than $300,000 since the Run's inception.

Sign Up or Create Your Team
You can sign up as an individual or become a fundraiser—creating a team and collecting pledges to benefit transplant patient care initiatives at Strong. Donations can also be made via cash or check to be submitted at race packet pick up, or on race day—sponsors may note the name of the participating runner or walker in the notes area of the registration form.
Invite your friends, family, and co-workers to sponsor you with a donation of any amount. Prizes will be awarded to the two top pledge collectors.
