Seymour I. Schwartz, MD General Surgery Residents Edcuational Enhancement Fund

Seymour Schwartz, MDSeymour Schwartz, MD
as a resident, circa 1950
One of the worlds’ most distinguished surgeons, Dr. Seymour I. Schwartz was a vocal advocate for the critical role that education plays in preparing the next generation of surgical leaders. He started the Schwartz General Surgical Residents Educational Enhancement Fund in 2014 to help fund experiential research, equipment, and travel to educational meetings for today’s surgical residents.

Adam Keefer ‘03M (MD) ‘08M (Res) said the support he received during his training here inspires him to give back through the Dr. Seymour I. Schwartz General Surgery Residents Educational Enhancement Fund.

“The surgical training in Rochester is better than 95% of programs,” Keefer said. He and fellow alumni and partners Sean Hislop, ’05M (MD), ’10M (Res) and Kristian Hochberg ‘07M (Res) recently made a generous gift to honor their own training and mentors, and to invest in the future of the program, saying “It’s important to continue that quality.”

Growing this fund is a priority and you can help.
