Faculty

Overall, our Toxicology Training Program faculty are internationally recognized, well-funded, committed to graduate education, and have a proven track record in mentoring students and postdoctoral fellows. In addition to their direct involvement in research, teaching, and training of future scientists, our faculty serve as national and international sources of experience and expertise in toxicology and environmental health science. They have contributed to membership of over 60 national advisory committees grant review panels, and many are members of international committees. They serve on editorial boards of many scientific journals, including virtually all of those in the environmental health sciences and toxicology.

Training Faculty’s Research Areas

The main research activities of Toxicology Training Program faculty can be divided into the following seven general areas of emphasis: Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Toxicology, Immunotoxicology, Molecular Modifiers of Toxicity, Neurotoxicology, Osteotoxicology, Reproductive & Developmental Toxicology, and Stem Cells & Epigenetics.

As depicted below, faculty research is multidisciplinary and collaborative in nature; thus, many mentors are actively involved in research that spans more than one of the seven areas of emphasis within our training program. These research programs provide a strong environment for PhD and postdoctoral training, and provide a rich multi-disciplinary environment for our trainees to expand their tools and explore their creative ideas to address significant problems in environmental health.
