Requirements
After meeting with us about available positions, you will have to obtain the following documents before beginning employment:
NYS License
Licensure requirements ( Physicians | Office of the Professions )
- Graduation from a recognized medical school.
- ECFMG Certificate: USMLE 1, 2CK, OET (Occupational English Test)
- USMLE Step 3.
- At least 6 years of post-graduate training.
- Foreign Medical License.
- FCVS (FSMB | Federation Credentials Verification Service)
VISA Sponsorship
There have been multiple changes in the US in regards to VISA sponsorship, so it is best to call us and ask about these options. For the moment, J-1 and H-1B sponsorship are available on a case-by-case basis.
J-1 : requires 40hr/wk in our rural anesthesia sites, with time available at our level 1 trauma center outside of this.
H-1B: Talk to us about this option and the requirement for sponsorship. It is currently available, and we will work with you to obtain it.
Credentialing Requirements
- Foreign anesthesia specialist license and NPI number.
- DEA Certification.
- General good standing as a physician and background check.
- Completion of Training modules (mandated reporter, infection control, DEA training, radiation safety, etc.)
- More info will be sent after these things are submitted. Credentialing can take up to 6 months, even with all requirements turned in on time.
