Cardiac Anesthesiologist

The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine seeks a BC/BE Cardiac Anesthesiologist with fellowship training or experience.  TEE certification or equivalent experience is expected.  Open to all ranks.  Opportunities exist to provide care outside the cardiac OR.  Call is for cardiac cases only.

Our team of experts provides service for over 1000 adult cardiac cases annually.  We are one of the country’s most experienced ECMO and LVAD centers, and the region’s only heart transplantation center.  We have a robust minimally invasive valve program and received recognition as a Mitral Valve Repair Reference Center by the Mitral Foundation and American Heart Association.

Cardiovascular research is central to the strategic mission of the University of Rochester Medical Center.  This is facilitated by the opening of one of the largest Centers for Cardiovascular Research in the U.S. Our Department is ranked 20th in NIH funding. The Department is willing to provide additional non-clinical time to the qualified candidate seeking to establish a career performing funded research in health outcomes, clinical, or basic science research. The University of Rochester is an equal opportunity employer, offering a competitive compensation package with substantial benefits.

A low cost of living and 5 of the top 100 U.S. high schools make Rochester an excellent place to raise a family.  The surrounding Finger Lakes region offers 4-season recreational opportunities, scenic beauty, and internationally recognized classical and jazz music, dance, and theater.
